How can counselling help?

We can all experience difficulties and loss in our lives; at home, at work, at college and in our relationships.  Counselling can help you to improve how you manage and cope with these difficulties. My aim is to offer you a calm, non-judgemental and respectful place to explore your thoughts and feelings, in a way that makes sense.

I am trained to listen and my approach (person-centred) and manner is gentle and calm. I draw on my own broad life experiences to create a safe, supportive and accepting place for you to talk about things that may be causing you distress.

People who come to see me for counselling are often feeling stressed and anxious, or depressed with low mood and lacking in motivation. This can impact on relationships with people around you, causing difficulties at work and creating feelings of helplessness or worthlessness. People have reported disturbed sleeping and eating patterns, which again can impact on mood. Counselling is good at tackling all these issues and can help create a sense of being able to manage and of being OK again.

My training enables me to work therapeutically with couples who may be struggling within their relationship, often discovering more effective ways of communicating and resolving historical issues.

If any of this sounds familiar, please come and meet me. We can talk about how you might like things to be different and what you would like to achieve.

I work in Mid and East Devon at Cullompton and Honiton, which are easily accessible from Tiverton, Exeter, Axminster, Wellington, Sampford Peverell, Uffculme, Feniton and surrounding areas....
